NONBINARY DICTIONARY

GENDERS

Agender: A lack of gender.
Agenderfluid: A subset of genderfluid where one's gender fluctuates regularly but consistently comes back to agender.
Alexigender: A subset of genderfluid where one is aware that their identity shifts between multiple genders, but is unable to label the individual genders they experience.
Aliagender/Aporagender: An identity that exists outside the existing Western social constructs of gender.
Altegender: A gender that feels as though it’s in a parallel dimension, on a different plane, in a mirror universe, or in an alternate existence. Can be used as a prefix; altegirl, alteboy, altefluid, etc.
Ambigender: Identifying as two genders at once with no fluidity or shifting.
Ambonec: When one identifies as male, female, and neither all at the same time.
Androgyne: A gender identity that blends male and female, or feels between male and female.
Anler: A gender entirely independent of male and female while still involving a very strongly gendered feeling. Anler is based around certainty and determination in identity.
Antibinary: A gender specific to people of color that is in direct opposition or unaffiliated with the western gender binary.
Apogender: When one feels not only genderless, but separate from the entire concept of gender.
Bigender: Identifying as two genders at once. A bigender person may be fluid between the two genders (bigenderfluid), or may feel both genders simultaneously.
Boi: An identity similar to male that involves a deliberate separation from the western gender binary. For use by black people only.
Boyflux: When one feels mostly or entirely male for a majority of the time, but experiences fluctuating intensities of maleness.
Brevigender: A subset of genderfluid in which one's gender changes rapidly or feels like it is constantly changing.
Bxy: A gender that is both male and agender/genderless, whether being both at the same time or fluid between the two.
Celestarian: A gender that is a combination of juparian, lunettian, and mercurian, whether all three at once or fluid between them.
Demigender: An identity that feels partially like one gender and partially like another. Can be used as a prefix; demigirl, demiboy, demimaverique, etc.
Egogender/charagender: A gender identity that feels unique to the person experiencing it.
Enby: A word for a nonbinary person based on the abbreviation NB.
Exgender: Refusing the concept of having any gendered identity.
Femgender: A gender that is feminine in nature.
Fingender: An umbrella term for all genders that are feminine in nature.
Garnetgender: A polygender identity that feels like a fusion of two or more genders that are very different from each other, but together feel like a single gender identity with a mix of traits of the other genders.
Genderblank: An identity for when you feel there are no possible words to explain your gender.
Genderfae: A fluid identity that never involves feeling masucline.
Genderfaun: A fluid identity that never involves feeling feminine.
Genderfluid: An identity where your gender changes over time.
Genderflux/Fluidflux: An identity in which one is fluid in the intensity of their gendered feelings.
Genderless: A lack of gender.
Gendernull: A lack of gender.
Genderqueer: Not identifying as exclusively male or female.
Genderweird: A term for nonbinary people whose gender cannot be described by any other existing label.
Girlflux: When one feels mostly or entirely female for a majority of the time, but experiences fluctuating intensities of femaleness.
Greygender/Graygender: A person who is ambivalent about their gender identity but still identifies as nonbinary, or a person who has very weak gendered feelings.
Gxrl: A gender that is both female and agender/genderless, whether being both at the same time or fluid between the two.
Intergender: An intersex-exclusive identity where one feels as though their intersex status influences their gender.
Jouine: A gender entirely independent of male and female while still involving a very strongly gendered feeling. Jouine is based around joy and euphoria in identity. See also tragmat, anler, orupin, melauche, and maverique.
Juparettian: Someone who is fluid between juparian and lunettian, or is both at the same time.
Juparian: A nonbinary gender linked to soft celestial masculine energy. It is never hypermasculine and is not related to alignment.
Juxera: A gender similar to female, but is something separate.
Libragender: An identity that is mostly agender, but has a connection to masculinity and/or femininity. The connection may be static (librafeminine, libramasculine) or fluid (librafluid).
Lunettian: A nonbinary gender linked to soft celestial feminine energy. It is never hyperfeminine and is not related to alignment.
Magigender: Feeling mostly one gender, with the rest being something else. Can be used as a prefix; magiboy, magigirl, magienby, magienby, etc.
Mascgender: A gender that is masculine in nature.
Maverique: A gender entirely independent of male and female while still involving a very strongly gendered feeling.
Melauche: A gender entirely independent of male and female while still involving a very strongly gendered feeling. Melauche is based around shyness and timidity in identity. See also tragmat, anler, orupin, jouine, and maverique.
Mercurian: A nonbinary gender that is linked to soft celestial energy, neither masculine nor feminine.
Merjuparian: Someone who is fluid between mercurian and juparian, or is both at the same time.
Merlunettian: Someone who is fluid between mercurian and lunettian, or is both at the same time.
Mingender: An umbrella term for all genders that are masculine in nature.
Multigender: An umbrella term for anyone who experiences more than one gender identity.
Mutaregender: A fluid identity in which one feels like they never experience the same gender twice.
Neptunian: A nonbinary gender that is linked to the void and soft celestial masculine energy.
Neutrois: A gender identity that is neutral, null, or genderless.
Ningender: An umbrella term for all genders that are neutral in nature.
Nonbinary: A gender that is not entirely male or entirely female.
Nongender: A lack of gender.
Nonpuella: Someone who is not female in any way, but feels a strong connection to femininity.
Nonpuer: Someone who is not male in any way, but feels a strong connection to masculinity.
Offgender: A gender that is most closely represented by another gender, but is not that gender. Can be used as a prefix; offboy, offgirl, etc.
Omnigay: A genderfluid identity where one's attraction shifts with their gender so that they are always attracted to the same gender.
Omnigender: Having many genders at once.
Orupin: A gender entirely independent of male and female while still involving a very strongly gendered feeling. Orupin is based around stability and reason in identity. See also tragmat, anler, melauche, jouine, and maverique.
Polygender: Having multiple genders at once.
Quoigender: Someone who finds the concept of gender identity to be inapplicable or nonsensical for themself.
Saturnian: A nonbinary gender that is linked to both soft celestial masucline and feminine energy.
Starfluid: A nonbinary gender that is linked to the energy of space/stars.
Tragmat: A gender entirely independent of male and female while still involving a very strongly gendered feeling. Tragmat is based around ease and tranquility in identity. See also orupin, anler, melauche, jouine, and maverique.
Trigender: Being three genders at once, or fluid between three genders.
Venusarian: A nonbinary gender that is linked to the void and soft celestial feminine energy.
X-gender: A Japanese equivalent to nonbinary.

GENDER ALIGNMENTS

A gender alignment describes the affiliation a nonbinary person may have with the binary genders without actually being those genders. This may or may not relate to how a person believes they fit into sexism & the patriarchy; as such, it should not be assumed that a male-aligned person experiences male privilege, or that a female-aligned person experiences misogyny. It should also not be assumed that every nonbinary person has an alignment.

The galactian alignments are terms for nonbinary people who wish to express their affiliation with binary genders without being seen as any less nonbinary or as "essentially" male or female.



Eclipsian/sollunarian: Simultaneously male/man-aligned and female/woman-aligned, or varying between the two.

Female/woman-aligned: A connection or affiliation to femaleness, womanhood, girlhood, etc.

Galaxian/solstellunarian: Simultaneously unaligned, male/man-aligned, and female/woman-aligned, or varying between the three.

Lunarian: see female/woman-aligned.

Male/man-aligned: A connection or affiliation to maleness, manhood, boyhood, etc.

Multi-aligned: A connection or affiliation to both binary genders.

Nebularian/stellunarian: Simultaneously unaligned and female/woman-aligned, or varying between the two.

Novarian/solstellarian: Simultaneously unaligned and male/man-aligned, or varying between the two.

Singularian: Rejecting the alignment system completely.

Solarian: see male/man-aligned.

Stellarian: see unaligned/non-aligned.

Transfeminine: A term used to describe trans people who were assigned male at birth, but identify closer to femininity.

Transmasculine: A term used to describe trans people who were assigned female at birth, but identify closer to masculinity.

Unaligned/non-aligned: No connection or affiliation to any binary genders.

apora-aligned/Xenic: A connection or affiliation to animals, plants, things, and/or concepts rather than a traditional alignment to a binary gender.

Avian Spectrum

The Avian Spectrum is a series of terms for the diamoric community related to style presentation rather than masculinity/femininity. In-depth information can be found at the source post.

Crow: A nonbinary person whose style is in between Kiwi and Peacock.

Falcon: A nonbinary person whose style is in between Crow and Kiwi.

Kiwi: A nonbinary person whose style is muted and simple.

Peacock: A nonbinary person whose style is flashy, bright, and colorful.

Pigeon: A nonbinary person whose style is in between Peacock and Crow.


Pallet System

Cerul: Comes from the word cerulean, which is a shade of blue. A term for nonbinary people who present in a traditionally feminine way.

Cinnab: Comes from the word cinnabar, which is a shade of red. A term for nonbinary people who present in between traditionally masculine and androgynous.

Fuchs Comes from the word fuchsia, which is a shade of pink. A term for nonbinary people who present in a combination of both traditionally masculine and feminine ways.

Indig: Comes from the word indigo, which is a shade of blue. A term for nonbinary people who present in a combination of androgynous, masculine, and feminine ways.

Laven: Comes from the word lavender, which is a shade of purple. A term for nonbinary people who present in between traditionally feminine and androgynous.

Pewt: Comes from the word pewter, which is a shade of grey. A term for nonbinary people who present in a traditionally androgynous way.

Vermil: Comes from the word vermilion, which is a shade of red. A term for nonbinary people who present in a traditionally masculine way.

Virid: Comes from the word viridian, which is a shade of blue. A term for nonbinary people who present in a way that rejects traditional binary descriptions entirely, or for people who feel that none of the other terms fit them.


Animal Presentation Terms

This is a series of terms for nonbinary people based around animals. Stag, Fox, and Swan refer to a scale of masuclinity/femininity, while Sparrow, Crow, and Peacock refer to the amount of effort put into presentation. In-depth information can be found at the source post.

Crow: A nonbinary person whose presentation is the midpoint between Peacock and Sparrow.

Fox: A nonbinary person whose presentation is androgynous, fluid between masculinity and femininity, or a combination.

Peacock: A nonbinary person whose presentation is high-effort.

Sparrow: A nonbinary person whose presentation is casual or low-effort.

Stag: A nonbinary person who considers their presentation to be masculine.

Swan: A nonbinary person who considers their presentation to be feminine.


Jackhound/Femcat/Neufox

Femcat: A nonbinary person who presents in a traditionally feminine way.

Jackhound: A nonbinary person who presents in a traditionally masculine way.

Neufox: A nonbinary person who presents in an androgynous way.


Other

Femproche: A term for those who are not women but choose to express in a feminine manner, and this expression is important to their gender identity.

Genderfuck/Genderpunk: A person, not necessarily nonbinary, who purposely dresses in ways that contradict the standard expectations of gender expression.

Homproche: A term for those who are not male but choose to express in a masculine manner, and this expression is important to their gender identity.

ATTRACTION/ORIENTATION TERMS

Diamoric: A nonbinary person who prioritizes other nonbinary people in their life. Or: relationships that include at least one nonbinary person.

Enbian: A nonbinary person attracted, exclusively or not, to other nonbinary people; or, a relationship between nonbinary people. Can also be used as an adjective.

Enboric: An umbrella term to refer to everyone who experiences attraction to nonbinary people.

Femaric: An umbrella term to refer to everyone who experiences attraction to women.

Feminamoric: A nonbinary person attracted only to women.

Gai: An adjective to describe a nonbinary person's attraction that is not "straight," but also not same-gender attraction.

Lunaric: Attraction only to female-aligned nonbinary people.

Marsic: A nonbinary person attracted only to men and solarians.

Mascic: An umbrella term to refer to everyone who experiences attraction to men.

NBLM (nonbinary loving men): An umbrella term for nonbinary people who are attracted to men. See toric.

NBLNB (nonbinary loving nonbinary): An umbrella term for nonbinary people who are attracted to other nonbinary people.

NBLW (nonbinary loving women): An umbrella term for nonbinary people who are attracted to women. See trixic.

Neptunic: Attraction to women and all nonbinary people who are not male-aligned.

Omnigay: A genderfluid identity where one's attraction shifts with their gender so that they are always attracted to the same gender.

Solaric: Attraction only to male-aligned nonbinary people.

Stellaric: Attraction only to unaligned nonbinary people.

Terraric: A nonbinary perseon attracted only to other nonbinary people.

Toric: An umbrella term for nonbinary people who are attracted to men. Can also be used to describe relationships between nonbinary people and men.

Trixic: An umbrella term for nonbinary people who are attracted to women. Can also be used to describe relationships between nonbinary people and women.

Uranic: Attraction to men and all nonbinary people who are not female-aligned.

Venusic: A nonbinary person attracted only to women and lunarians.

Viramoric: A nonbinary person attracted only to men.
